Like much of the world right now, we have spent a lot of time in the past month listening, learning (and unlearning), and absorbing information about Black Lives Matter to try to better educate ourselves to be stronger participants in this movement. In addition to the work the team is doing on a personal level, we wanted to share where we have decided to contribute financial support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

AppLovin Cares, a team of AppLovin employees committed to giving back through volunteer hours and grants, selected five local and national organizations to support through our donations. This group is built on the idea that when our communities succeed, we succeed, and we look to go further by helping to build that community.

Ella Baker Center of Human Rights

Based in the Bay Area, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights focuses on reinvestment in the community by shifting resources away from prisons and punishment and toward growth opportunities to make Black, Brown, and low-income communities safer, healthier, and stronger.

The Greenlining Institute

Coming out of Oakland, The Greenlining Institute, works to directly combat redlining by offering economic opportunities for people of color through advocacy, community and coalition building, research, and leadership development. Right now, in the face of a global pandemic, The Greenlining Institute is also working to ensure that communities are embracing equity to ensure that those experiencing the most hurt receive the most care.

Equal Justice Initiative

The Equal Justice Initiative is based in Montgomery, Alabama and is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States. It aims to challenge racial and economic injustice, and to protect basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in society.

The Bail Project

The Bail Project, Inc. is an unprecedented effort to combat mass incarceration by paying bail for low-income people in need, reuniting families, and restoring the presumption of innocence. As a nationwide organization, it aims to target communities with the town/city size, need, and racial disparities in mind.

UNCF

UNCF aims to build a robust and nationally-recognized pipeline of under-represented students who become highly-qualified college graduates. Right now, due to COVID-19, the impact on HBCUs has been devastating. UNCF is using donations to support students who have been left without a place to stay, with no funds to get home, and no part-time jobs to help themselves.
