We’re excited to announce that we’ve been named a Best Place to Work in the Bay Area by San Francisco Business Times for the fifth time! It’s an honor to receive this award, which recognizes local companies that “are known for recruiting and retaining the best and brightest employees” multiple years in a row, and is a true testament to AppLovin’s commitment to creating a collaborative and inclusive environment, a true passion for the work we do, and a strong leadership team guiding the business.
We pride ourselves on putting employees first, and it shows: We have high retention because our employees truly believe in what we do, they enjoy the variety of interesting and challenging projects we’re working towards, and because we do everything we can to enrich their lives professionally and personally. We are also very proud of creating a supportive work environment for all employees, giving them the tools and freedom to become leaders and mentors, and investing time to help them grow professionally and personally. Professional growth within the company is fundamental to our culture, which is evident by the fact that many of our senior team members started with us in non-management positions, and took initiative and ownership to take their roles and involvement to the next level.
AppLovin’s global teams work together to achieve big goals and create a culture of excellence and camaraderie – and we like to take care of the amazing team we’ve built. Enhancing our employees’ lives in every way we can is central to our “Culture First” philosophy. One way we do this is through services that ease the burdens of everyday life (like laundry service, dry cleaning, and shoe repair), and a unique benefit we offer is a stipend for computer and desk setup. This isn’t just a budget for necessary items like pens and pencils – employees have the opportunity to customize their desk with lighting, and ergonomic tools so they’re comfortable all day long.
When it comes to health and wellness, AppLovin offers all employees a free gym membership of their choosing so they can stay in shape with their favorite group exercise classes, or sprint miles on a treadmill. On Fridays, employees are offered the chance to receive in-office massages to take a moment to relax after working hard all week and our offices also offer healthy lunches five days a week. AppLovin covers 100% of employees medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Additionally, enjoying each others’ company in a variety of settings is essential to our culture. AppLovin has two employee led organizations, AppLovin Cares and FemLovin, which both have high participation rates in our Bay Area offices. AppLovin Cares is a group of employees committed to giving back through volunteer hours and grants — dedicated to more than just donations, it’s purpose is to build community. FemLovin started as an informational Slack channel to discuss books and collaboration, but has since blossomed into an after-hours group where women can share ideas, connect with local female leaders, and build valuable relationships. AppLovin also hosts semi-annual off-site events which range from team picnics — including food trucks and bubble soccer to wine pairing in the Napa Valley — and even access to luxury boxes at local stadiums for our team to enjoy sporting events and concerts.
