If you’re just getting started with MAX, here are some basic tips to help you get off to a smooth start and set the stage for your applications.

If you’re migrating to MAX, bring over your existing waterfall setup.
Your current network IDs have existing learning associated with them – bring them over so you don’t have to start from scratch! Once migrated, they become your baseline from which to build. You can use our Ad Unit Management API, which helps automate waterfall management and transfer an existing configuration from any mediation platform.
If you’re coming from MoPub, you can expedite the migration process. We have created a waterfall migration script that copies your MoPub waterfall configurations into MAX. Test your integration.
Testing is an essential step to ensuring a smooth experience for your users — but it doesn’t have to be time-consuming. MAX includes a variety of tools to test and validate your integration to help you launch your apps quickly and confidently. Read how to test and validate your integration.
Automate as much as possible.
The more you automate, the less you have to worry about managing day-to-day and the more you can focus on what you do best: building great apps. Our APIs help you prototype and launch apps faster, automate waterfall changes and A/B tests, migrate existing portfolios to MAX, and pull data into your own BI tools. Once you’ve got the basics covered and you’re up and running in MAX, you can start thinking about further optimizing and refining your monetization setup. Here are some more optimization tips from our experts:
Use Geo-based waterfalls.
CPMs can vary greatly depending on the geographical mix of your app. You may want to consider using regional networks –– for example, Line for Japan, Yandex for Russia, etc. to dial in costs and optimize growth.
Test and test again.
Remember to ‘ABT’ –– Always Be Testing. Networks are constantly changing and you need to test and optimize for seasonal trends, weekly changes, and more. Collecting data, tweaking, and iterating through A/B tests is critical to success.
Launch an AdROAS campaign.
As a MAX user, you have the exclusive ability to use AppDiscovery to launch an Ad ROAS campaign. An Ad ROAS campaign can help you tackle ROAS challenges using machine learning to automate and optimize a campaign and acquire new users with high LTV for any mobile app.
Keep Your Brand Safe.

Validate Your Network Revenue
MAX reports estimated revenue in real time based on estimated CPMs set in the dashboard, so it’s very important to validate pricing so you don’t draw incorrect conclusions with A/B testing, ad ROAS assessment, ARPDAU changes, etc. Using the MAX Network Comparison report that automatically does this comparison for you, use a 7-day time period for validation to normalize for time zone differences between platforms. For permissions, connect the networks from the Manage Networks page. This will show you if your network is successfully connected.
