What is Android? 

Android is a mobile operating system designed for touchscreen devices such as smartphones and tablets developed by Google. Android first came into the market in 2008 and is the world’s most widely installed mobile operating system on smartphones and tablets. 

How does Android work? 

Android works on free and open-source software. Unlike Apple’s iOS system, Android has several built-in applications and also supports third-party programs.  Android also exclusively works with the Google Play Store which has over 2.9 million apps available.
